Traditionally this service has been hosted internally and was designed on the assumption that staff visit properties, making paper notes, and input the data once back in the office. Although there is some remote access to the solution this style of application does not enable a digital workforce of the future and limits flexibility and accessibility of information delivery and collection and is unsustainable going forward. It was determined that an alternative more up-to-date software solution should be evaluated as a replacement. TF have offered a web based product for a number of years but GCC has stuck to the desktop product using “workarounds” to deal with the easier to fix flexibility issues but this was unsustainable going in to the future, especially with remote working becoming the normal. We also require a software that is platform agnostic (rather than tied to Windows PCs) and one that allows contractors to receive, manage and upload information as well as GCC staff, but at the same time has the highest levels of security to ensure our data is safe and does not compromise or put at risk GCCs GDPR obligations. The move to a cloud based Software as a Service (SAAS) product is in line with the Council’s ICT digital strategy.. Keywords: TechnologyForge, Technology, Fogre
