Supply, delivery and commissioning of a winding machine

Tender description

A winding machine is required to test and manufacture both copper windings and high temperature superconductor windings. National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS) require notes of interest for the potential supply of a winding machine. A winding machine is required to test and manufacture both copper windings and high temperature superconductor windings for superconducting electrical machines. The machine also needs to apply insulation for the windings and measure the continuous critical currents of superconductors at 77K. High level specification is provided below: - The offered equipment must work for both copper wires and flat superconductors - The offered equipment must have the ability to continuously measure the critical current of superconductors in 77K - The offered equipment must provide safe containment and enable safe transfer of liquid nitrogen. - The offered equipment must have the ability to wind pancake coils, racetrack coils, wind solenoids and to control winding tension - The offered equipment must be adjustable to apply for different insulation materials for superconductors, e.g. polyimide tape, Mica tape, Cotton Tape, kapton tape. Please state the materials the equipment is compatible with.
