Sligo Communities Area Action Planning 2020

Tender description

In order to support communities to plan for their future in light of current needs, opportunities and European policy, we require a consultant(s) to facilitate and undertake the development of Area Action plans for various communities in County Sligo as outlined below: Part 1: Community Assessment Each Area Action Plan should seek to identify existing assets, amenities, natural/cultural resources, human capital, community need etc. and should include as a minimum: - • An outline and description of the physical environment • Population/community profile • Access to services • Community Life –what is happening in the community Part 2: Community Consultation and Engagement Working with key community stakeholders and champions to find out about the people in the area and the assets that they are proud of. Engaging local community organisations, service providers and groups to identify the areas of concern in the area and the improvements required, utilising participatory approaches that engage a cross section of community stakeholders including those that experience social exclusion. Part 3: Development of a Shared Vision for Development • Identification of priorities • Development of a SWOT Analysis Part 4: Development of an Area Action Plan • Work with relevant stakeholders to identify key actions for implementation with short, medium- and long-term objectives • Identification of key stakeholder to deliver actions outlined in the plan • Ensure key actions are in line with current local and national strategy. It is envisaged that this project will commence in early 2021 and should be completed by summer 2021. Covid Restrictions may require that many sessions are undertaken on line, this will change in accordance with Government Guidelines.
