Tender description

The scheme commences at Lamb's Cross junction (R117) and extends approximately 1.4km to the junction with Ticknock Road (adjacent to the M50 overbridge). The proposed scheme also includes approximately 375m at the 3 tie-in roads at Lambs Cross, Enniskerry Road, Sandyford Road and Hillcrest Road and 55m at Ticknock Road. The proposed Scheme also includes an improvement to the junction of Grange Road/Harold's Grange Road/College Road/Kellystown Road. The length of improved roads at this junction is approximately 150m. In total the overall length of the scheme is approximately 2km. The associated works include: Construction of pavement, footways and cycle lanes: 6.5m – 11.5m wide carriageway 1.5m – 2.25m pedestrian route and 1.5m – 2.0m cyclist route. The project involves the upgrading of approximately 2 km of local roads typically with 2 x 3.25m lanes of single carriageway, 2 no. new footways and 2 no. new cycleways. The typical cross section of the road is 14m wide. The improvement works are all on-line along the existing roads. The works include: • Construction of pavement, footways and cycleways: • 6.5m – 11.5m wide carriageway • 1.5m – 2.25m footway • 1.5m – 2.0m cycleway • Upgrading of existing traffic signalised junction at Lambs Cross • Sectional Completion of works are required for the improvement works at the existing traffic signalised junction of Grange Road/Harold's Grange Road/Kellystown Road/College Road • Toucan traffic signal crossing on Blackglen Road • Upgrading of bus stops on Blackglen Road, Sandyford Road and Enniskerry Road • Earthworks including excavations and embankment construction • Drainage • Kerb and Gully drainage • Surface Water • Foul Water • Contractor Designed Structures: Attenuation Culvert extensions • Traffic signs and road markings • Existing service diversions and proposed services, including:- • ESB Overhead and Underground and Mini-pillars • Eir Overhead and Underground • Virgin Media diversions • Watermains • Public Lighting, including – New Lighting Columns • New Public Lighting Ducts • Traffic Ducting and Spare Ducting • Accommodation works for affected landowners including reinforced concrete retaining walls and other boundary treatments • Environmental Mitigation • Temporary Traffic Management works to safely construct the scheme.
