Defra seeks to understand the relative environmental impacts, including carbon costs, of (i) disposable versus washable nappies through a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), considering 3 scenarios: landfill (current model), recycling systems and models for washable nappies, and (ii) disposable versus reusable Absorbent Hygiene Products (AHPs) considering landfill, recycling systems and alternative product models.
