Tourism Ireland, together with Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland is seeking a service provider capable of providing research consultancy services into the Ultra High Net Worth Luxury Travel Market. Tourism to the island of Ireland has experienced a decade of solid growth with record tourist arrivals and inbound tourist spend across the island supporting jobs and providing our visitors with a great holiday experience. COVID-19 has delivered an immediate and full stop to international tourism right across the world and the island of Ireland is no exception. First and foremost, COVID-19 is a global health crisis and the tourism industry across the island has played its part in adhering to government guidance. However, closures and cancellations have come at a heavy price, and tourism businesses across the island of Ireland need inbound tourism to recover as quickly and effectively as possible. Uncovering information and understanding on the early adopters – travellers who, when the time is right, will be the first to become open to travel on the island of Ireland – is one element of this. We will look at the various segments that are hypothesised to recover first, and oil the wheels of recovery of tourism on the island of Ireland. Our knowledge will evolve as the crisis evolves, and in turn, provide support to industry and trade suffering untold hardship. Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland work closely together in the effort of recovery. Luxury travel is one area of opportunity.
