Provision of Consultancy Services & Advice in relation to Evaluation of Education and Public Engagement (EPE) Activities for SFI Research Centres Programme

SFI regards EPE as a key element of the Research Centres Programme and in recognition of this an EPE reviewer is recruited to participate in the biennial reviews of each Research Centre. SFI also facilitates networking among the EPE Managers to support a community of practice. This is important when, in many cases, the EPE Managers work on their own within their individual Research Centres. As part of the recent reviews undertaken of the Research Centres, evaluation of EPE activities has been highlighted as an area for development. Evaluation of education and public engagement activities is an essential tool to enable the Research Centres to reflect and learn from their experiences and assess the impact of their activities. Another aspect of SFI’s coordinating role is to support capacity building for EPE within the Research Centres, including modules on communications, engaging with the media, engaged research etc. A previous example of such training was delivered to support the EPE Managers in the use of Logic Modelling when developing their EPE programmes. The purpose of this Request for Tender is to seek an expert service to develop and deliver a training programme in evaluation tools and techniques for the EPE Managers, to include one-to-one consultation and support over a period of one year to support the EPE Managers in the implementation of their evaluation plans.
