Provision of Comhairle na nÓg Services in Co. Meath

Tender description

This tender is for the operation of Meath Comhairle na n’Óg and associated activities on behalf of Meath County Council. The contract will be for a period of 2 year with a possible contract extension of 1 year at the discretion of the Local Authority. Comhairlí na nÓg are child and youth councils operating in the 31 Local Authority areas of the Country. The purpose of Comhairle is to provide a forum for children and young people from each Local Authority area to discuss local and national issues of relevance to them and affords them the opportunity to be involved in and inform the development of local and national policies. Comhairle na nÓg is led and funded at national level by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) under the National Children’s Strategy 2000 and Better Outcomes Brighter Futures, The National Policy Framework for children & Young People 2014-2020. Funding is administered through Pobal. At local level responsibility rests with Meath County Council. The successful tenderer will be required to grow the Meath Comhairle na n’Óg into a strong inclusive collective voice for young people across Co. Meath and to continuing to build on Meath Comhairle na n’Óg as a consultative forum and facilitating the interaction of Comhairle na n’Óg with policy makers and service developers locally and nationally to ensure that the views of young people are included in shaping policies and services.
