Tender description

UCLH invites bidders to compete for the provision of dental laboratory services and is offering the opportunity for qualified laboratories to detail how they meet the Trust’s Specification. Bidders shall submit prices to compete for the supply of laboratory work for the dental division of the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals for a two-year term with an option to extend for two further 12-month periods. Due to the specialist nature of the service, the Trust has decided to separate the requirements into three individual lots; fixed prosthodontics, removable prosthodontics and orthodontics. Lot 1: Fixed prosthodontics • to include implant retained reconstruction; • full range of fixed appliances including tooth supported and implant-retained; • any work provided at existing or increased occluso-vertical dimension; • full mouth reconstruction; • multiple conventional bridgework and implant-retained; • precision attachment; • fixed requirements Contractor(s) shall be able to provide the following crown and bridge products as a minimum: • porcelain crowns; • porcelain bonded to precious metal crowns; • adhesive bridges; • fixed bridges; • porcelain veneers; • post crowns; • precious metal on-lays; • study models; • diagnostic wax-ups; • pull-down acrylic stents; • articulated casts on semi-adjustable articulators; • access to fully adjustable articulators; • availability of face bow; • to be provided on well poured and trimmed casts. Contractor(s) shall be able to provide the following Crown and bridge products retained on implants as a minimum: • well poured and trimmed study and diagnostic casts; • crowns and bridges (porcelain and other materials as deemed appropriately by the Contracting Authority); • temporary prosthesis using different materials (acrylic, composite and others); • wax-ups; • surgical and radiographic templates using various radio-opaque markers; • access to different computerised scanning software; • diagnostic wax-ups; • all restorations to be provided on articulated casts –e.g. semi-adjustable; adjustable depending on case complexity; • any other state of the art implant retained reconstructions as deemed appropriately by the contracting authority; • hard acrylic Michigan splints. To include implant-retained reconstruction and facial prosthesis. • full range of removable prosthodontics to include implant-retained reconstruction; • complete dentures in atrophic mandible/maxilla; • 2-part dentures; • obturators; • speech bulbs/lift appliance; • work for cleft/oncology cases; • cobalt chrome or acrylic dentures at existing and increased OVD; • all implant retained/supported dentures (bar/ locators); • sleep apnoea appliances; • Essix retainers; • bleaching trays. Lot 3: Orthodontics • full range of removable appliances and functional appliances; • complex functional appliances (Teuscher, Van Beek, Twin Blocks with advancement screws); • frankel appliances; • full range of fixed appliances; • expansion devices including rapid maxillary expansion.
