Tender description
The scope of works for the scheme is summarised briefly as follows: WX-N11-008.00 Scarawalsh Bridge: Scarawalsh Bridge is a single span, 39.0m long post-tensioned voided deck slab which has an out-to-out measurement of 14.70m. The structure carries the R772 single carriageway over the River Slaney and is located north of Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. The structure was built in the mid-1970s. thje scope of work is as follows: - Waterproofing and re-surfacing of the bridge deck; - Remediation works to expansion joint support detail and the subsequent replacement of existing expansion joint. WX-N30-010.00 Island Bridge: Island Bridge is a single span reinforced concrete slab structure that carries the R714 single carriageway over a tributary of the Barrow River, approx. 4km north of New Ross, Co. Wexford. The structure has an overall length of 7.2 m. The out to out measurement of the structure is 15.4 m. The year of construction is approx. late 1980’s. The scope of work is as follows: - Replacement of existing bridge parapets with a compliant vehicle containment system along with approach safety barriers; - Construction of reinforced concrete parapet restraining slabs; - Construction of new verges; WX-N30-011.00 Mount Elliot Bridge: Mount Elliot bridge is a single span jack arch bridge comprised of cast iron beams with brick arches spanning between beams. The structure carries the R714 carriageway over the disused Enniscorthy to New Ross railway line. The structure has a clear span of 4.72 and an out-to-out measurement of 16.5m. The year of construction is unknown but is thought to be circa 1870. The scope of work is as follows: - Construction of independent reinforced concrete overslab on top of existing deck (to be suported on existing masonry abutments); - Construction of new parapets; - Waterproofing, surfacing and footpath construction; - Painting of cast iron beams; - Masonry repairs and repointing.
