Toxic substances rehabilitation services

Tender description

Provision of a through-care, aftercare and recovery support integrated substance misuse service for adults over the age of 18. The service will complement and work collaboratively to support Tiers 2-4 adult substance misuse treatment and support services across Cardiff and the Vale ABP area including individuals in receipt of clinical and non-clinical treatment interventions, those leaving residential treatment services, and service users contemplating changes to their care plan that may lead to aftercare and recovery support service provision. The service will collaborate with children and young people’s substance misuse services in order to provide transitional support for 18+ year olds leaving those services, and for whom aftercare and recovery is the most suitable form of intervention for the next stage of their care and support. Due to Covid-19 and other factors the planned timeline for recommissioning this service has been delayed. The health board have therefore recommended a 12-month extension to the existing services to allow the recommissioning tender to be completed. The service will provide throughcare, aftercare and recovery planning for service users, that encompasses structured, and less structured therapeutic interventions, relapse prevention, educational and socio-economic development and re-engagement, diversionary activities, recovery capital development, and ongoing peer led recovery community support. Due to Covid-19 and other factors the planned timeline for recommissioning this service has been delayed. The health board have therefore recommended a 12-month extension to the existing services to allow the recommissioning tender to be completed.
