Tender description

** THIS IS A CONTRACT AWARD *** The Covid 19 outbreak has had a positive effect on the way that some communities come together to support their members. In many local areas, community-led support has through necessity, found new energy. There are many factors that have supported this change, and partners such as local authorities, County Voluntary Councils and Health Boards have told us they are interested in further nurturing the resilience and mutual support communities are developing. We have an opportunity to co-ordinate this timely response building on existing work and partnerships. A cross sector approach and response is critical and benefits everybody; by sharing the responsibility, we can increase the likelihood of sustaining and embedding our collective work. What is required? Work has started within Social Care Wales to bring together partner agencies who want to explore, share and build on experiences to date; we also want to look wider to other parts of the UK for examples of sustained initiatives. The aim is to share learning, approaches and support to sustain community-led responses, where partners have differing levels and types of experience, using the principles as a framework. It will include a range of community-led support models including volunteering, community linking roles (community connectors, Local Area Co-ordinators, social prescribing) and micro-enterprises. We want to create some additional short-term capacity on behalf of our stakeholder group to help gain some timely and much needed traction in this area and position us well to move forward. This community resilience work has the support of Welsh Government as our sponsoring agency, along with Welsh Local Government Association and aligns with a range of policy and legislation including the Social Services and Well-being Act and the Well-being of Future Generations Act. Our essential requirements are: - Available to lead work on community resilience until the end of March 2021 - Skills and experience of collaborative working with partners in a community or wider public service environment - Proven track record of project management Please see Specification for more details
