Tender description

The purpose of this procurement is to award a contract for the provision of a countywide mental health crisis service across Somerset, which provides step-up and step-down care and support. As part of the NHS and the Somerset Local Authorities’ integrated response to Covid-19, a decision was made to reduce the number of people being admitted to and living on mental health wards in Somerset in order to: • improve bed and staffing capacity in hospitals; • enable better management of Covid-19 cases through increased staffing and bed resources; • enable better social distancing on the wards. The service will have wellbeing and recovery at its core and help people who are recovering from, or are in the midst of, a crisis to meet their goals. The successful provider will proactively manage and deliver the step-up/step-down model in Somerset and will deliver all care and support required, within two residential settings based in South Somerset and the Mendips.
