Railway transport services

Tender description

Contract for provision of commuter and regional rail services on the UK conventional mainline rail system. It is envisaged the services would run between: (a) London to Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent, (b) London to Birmingham via Northampton, (c) London to Milton Keynes, (d) London to Tring, (e) London to Liverpool via Birmingham, (f) Bletchley to Bedford, (g) Watford to St Albans, (h) Lichfield to Redditch and Bromsgrove, (i) Rugeley to Birmingham, (j) Birmingham to Hereford, (k) Birmingham to Worcester via University and via Smethwick Galton Bridge, (l) Birmingham to Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon via Dorridge and via Whitlocks End, (m) Shrewsbury to Birmingham, (n) Birmingham to Coventry, (o) Nuneaton to Coventry, (p) Leamington Spa to Coventry, (q) Stourbridge Town to Stourbridge Junction. There is a mixture of leisure, business and commuter travel. These services would be similar to those currently operated on the West Midlands Franchise. It is envisaged that services may also be introduced between: (a) Walsall and Wolverhampton via Willenhall; (b) Birmingham and Kings Norton via the Camp Hill lines.
