Provision of a suitably experienced Civil Engineering led Design Team to provide A detailed design of a new public realm (to tender stage) for the Main Street Carrickmacross

Tender description

Monaghan County Council requires the services of a Civil Engineering Led Design Team service to include the roles of Landscape Architect, Structural Designer and the roles of PSDP Services. The Project is located at Main Street, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. • A detailed design of a new public realm (to tender stage) for the Main Street area in accordance with the 2018 Public Realm Plan; • Detailed design and development of appropriate management structures for enhanced public markets at Market Square and at the Southern end of Main Street. The first market location seeks to create a permanent market venue at the site where the current weekly market operates, whilst exploring the scope for expanding the market through an existing street arch into the backlands carpark beyond. The second market location is proposed for the open space to the front of the Market House at the Northern end of the Main Street. The Market House building has been partly restored and is occupied by the Carrickmacross Lace Gallery and a craft shop presently. It is envisaged that in time, the rest of the building will be restored and that this area will form a Craft Quarter for the town. The market at this location will have a craft theme in keeping with this vision. • Create a new town centre public park at Gallows Hill to the North of the Main Street. • A detailed engineering design of all ancillary access roads and infrastructure necessary for the above elements.
