Laboratory Services for Water Sampling & Testing for Well Grants

Tender description

As a result of the Covid 19 Pandemic, Donegal County Council intend to set up a panel of approved Laboratories to allow applicants for new well grants to avail of services for the testing, sampling, analysis and certification of drinking water to private supply wells for the processing of Well Grant Applications under the Housing (Private Water Supply Financial Assistance) Regulations 2020 (S.I. No. 192 of 2020). The applicants are required to have sampling and analysis of their drinking water supply carried out, before and after any water treatment system is installed, to ensure that the water supply is fit for human consumption i.e. that it complies with water quality standards set out in the Regulations ie – EU (Drinking Water) Regulations 2014, SI NO. 122 of 2014 and EU (Drinking Water)(Amendment) Regulations 2017, SI No. 464 of 2017. Typically sampling and analysis has been carried out in County Donegal by the HSE but this service is currently not available. Whilst it is envisaged that this is a temporary situation for an unspecified period, Donegal County Council wish to set up a panel of approved Laboratories who are capable of providing this service to applicants applying for Well Grants.
