Tender description

Provision of primary care optometry services in Stockport. Current commisioning assumptions are for the contract to commence on 1 April 2021 for a duration of 3 years with an option to extend for up to 2 further years with a potential contract value of GBP 3 400 000 over 5 years. Expressions of Interest re invited from appropriately experienced and capable providers to commence an engagement with Stockport CCG to assist the CCG to develop its commissioning intentions for the future provision of Primary Care Optometry Services. Current commissioning assumptions are that the service is likely to involve a contract for 3 to 5 years with a value of GBP 3 400 000 over 5 years, commencing on the 1 April 2021. While the CCGS’s requirement consists of four distinct service areas (Covid-19 urgent Eyecare Service, Minor Eye Condition Service, Pre and Post Cataract Assessment Service and Glaucoma Repeat Readings) it is envisaged that a single provider will be contracted to deliver these services. Whilst participation in this engagement exercise is not a mandatory requirement for participating in any potential future procurement, the level of responses received will assist to inform the CCG as to the level of interest from the market and will be used as evidence as to the appropriate process to award a contract and whether to undertake a competitive procurement.
