Tender description

NHS Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group are prepared to receive tenders for a community diagnostic services procurement. The services are to be broken down into two specialist areas which will form separate procurement lots. Those specialist areas are as follows: Lot 1: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and non-obstetric ultrasound (nous); Lot 2: adult hearing screening services. Lot 1: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS); Lot 2: Adult hearing screening services. The contracting authority is seeking a direct access for NOUS and MRI, head and neck service that will aid early diagnostics and avoid the need for unnecessary referral to secondary care, ensuring a local service with staff qualified with appropriate levels of skill and experience, using equipment which complies with the most up-to-date guidance set by the Royal College of radiologists, connection to NHS image transfer solutions, the ability to integrate with the e-Referral system, robust performance management systems and stringent levels of clinical governance. Lot 2: the contracting authority seeks a comprehensive service for adults experiencing hearing and communication difficulties who feel they might benefit from hearing assessment and rehabilitation, including the option of trying hearing aids with aftercare and support, in line with the national commissioning framework, other national guidance and local requirements.
