Collection and Treatment of Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) Offtakes

The contract awarded is for the collection/treatment of Offtakes from Glasgow City Council’s Materials Recycling Facility (MRF). MRF Offtakes are materials that have not been recovered through the MRF process and can include the following materials: - Paper - Card - Plastics - Metals - Fines - Organic fines - Low grade film - General waste The contractor will collect the MRF Offtakes and recycle them to avoid them being sent to landfill. The collection and treatment of Material Recycling Facility (MRF) offtakes and fines. The MRF is situated within Glasgow City Council’s Blochairn MRF. The Contractor will be required to: Collect MRF offtakes (loose or baled) and fines (loose), from the Council’s Blochairn Recycling Facility Treat MRF offtakes and fines to maximise recycling and diversion of waste from landfill The council is seeking to maximise both the recycling of these waste streams and the diversion of waste from landfill.
