Block MC repoint brickwork rear elevation, Magee Campus

Tender description

The works comprises the following to the existing Block MC, Magee Campus  The University has identified areas to the rear elevation of Block MC, Magee Campus where existing brickwork has deteriorated and is allowing damp penetration.  As this block is listed, all works must be carried out to listed building standards and specification. This work will include the following: • Scaffolding • Stripping of cement render throughout and provision of new Lime render • Isolated repointing of brickwork using Lime mortar • Isolated replacement of heavily weathered and spalled brickwork with new reclaimed Belfast facing bricks to match existing • Replacement of cast iron rainwater goods throughout with new moulded cast iron rainwater goods to match existing • Redecoration of single-glazed timber framed sash windows throughout using oil-based paint • Replacement of cracked or missing linseed oil glazing putty to windows • Isolated cleaning of stained brickwork and sandstone cills using Remmers Rotec Whirl Jet Cleaning Technique • Provision of in-line slate ventilators to roof-spaces throughout • Replacement of isolated natural roof slates • Isolated crack stitching repairs above window lintels using Helifix HeliBars and CemTies • Isolated repointing of roof verge fillets using Lime mortar • Replacement of 1nr existing sheeted external painted hardwood door to match existing • Treatment of white spot mould to timber rafters in roof-spaces throughout using Boracol 10RH • Removal of vegetation and resurfacing of concrete hard-standings to yards • • Isolated repairs to spalled sections of sandstone cills using a lime-based repair mortar • Replacement of steel lintels to dropped gauged brick arches to yards • Replacement of rotten timbers to 1nr dormer window
