Tender description

A coalition of up to 20 Local Development Companies delivering the LEADER (Rural Development) programme and other social and economic development programmes in various parts of Ireland is currently seeking applications from Service Providers/Trainers to tender for the tutor/facilitator costs associated with delivering our Smart Village Training for Rural Communities grounded on the emerging goals, methods/ approaches and is an example of the European Union’s Smart Village concept. A curriculum has already been developed by on our behalf, which we will make available to the successful Service Providers/Trainers to implement. The strengths, challenges, experience and work done to date along with the particular characteristics and needs of the communities in each Lot are expected to be taken into account, as well as the requirements of the Local Development Company. For the purpose of this competition the requirements will be divided into 20 lots. Each lot will result in a separate Framework agreement. Kilkenny LEADER Partnership Clg; is the Lead Partner and reserves the right to discontinue the procurement process at any time. The budget quoted is designed to cover all 20 areas. Interested parties can bid for one, several or all lots, but must identify which areas they are tendering for, and the cost per each lot tendered. Smart Villages are communities in rural areas that use innovative solutions to improve their resilience, building on local strengths and opportunities. They rely on a participatory approach to develop and implement their strategy to improve their economic, social, environmental and cultural conditions, including mobilising solutions offered by digital technologies. The Smart Villages concept brings a fresh approach and opens up new opportunities to improve the sustainability and resilience of rural areas and communities delivering on the promise of “A better life in rural areas” and reflects the principles and methods associated with Smart areas.
