Programme Officer for LB Sutton Examination-in-Public - South London Waste Plan

<p>The London boroughs of Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton are consulting on its Draft South London Waste Plan (proposed submission version) until 23 October 2020. It is expected to replace the Councils&rsquo; current South London Waste Plan (SLWP) in the spring of 2021.</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The new SLWP will provide for the essential infrastructure to support housing growth in south London by:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">safeguarding existing waste treatment sites;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">identifying sites and areas suitable for new waste facilities;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">including planning policies that both ensure that waste arisings in the boroughs are managed within the SLWP area and that new or redeveloped waste treatment facilities have the least impact on nearby uses and the environment.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Consequently, the Councils would like to appoint a programme officer for the Examination-in-Public by the end of November 2020.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The London Borough of Sutton is the lead authority but the appointment is being made on behalf of all four partner boroughs listed above.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Subject to any restrictions due to Covid-19, the hearings for the Examination-in-Public (EiP) will take place at Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> Keywords: EiP, Planning , Examination-in-Public , Programme Officer , Waste Plan
