A site owned by Galway City Council (1.03 hectares) is earmarked for social housing; however, the Japanese Knotweed onsite will need to be treated and eradicated before the proposed development can go ahead. The eradication works must be satisfactorily completed in the 2 areas identified for specific treatment. Area 1 must be dealt with within 24 months and Area 2 within 36 months of Contract Award with monitoring/treatment works required for 24 thereafter.
