Tender description

We require two dynamic load test systems for experiments on complex free form components made from advanced and composite materials to support the University’s world class research into aerospace composite structures and novel materials. One system will be aimed at testing of ‘structures’ and the second at ‘material’ testing. This system is intended for testing of aerospace components subject to high single axis loads or bending (subject to use of correct fixturing) under both static and fatigue conditions. Bending capability and maximum flexibility of loading conditions will be an important consideration when awarding the tender. An environmental chamber is required to allow MAST to understand the effects of heat and cold on the performance of such structures under uniaxial loading. This system is intended for development of material properties required for numerical simulation of such structures. An environmental chamber is required to allow MAST to understand the effects of heating and cooling on material properties under linear torsional loading.
