Network Rail is reviewing its occupational health requirements and part of this includes reviewing IT platforms which would be able to support any future Occupational Health requirements. To deliver a safe and efficient service Network Rail need healthy people who are proud to work at Network Rail and feel the care and support of the business regarding their overall health and wellbeing. NR is a complex organisation and we are heavily reliant on data. Occupational Health (OH) is imperative to our legislative compliance, medical competency of safety critical works and to support our employees and line managers to appropriately manage sickness absence and/or those employees with health conditions. Historically, OH data management has been the responsibility of the OH data supplier, which has removed the autonomy of routes and functions within Network Rail being able to fully scrutinise and work with data that suits their needs. Network Rail is reviewing its occupational health requirements and part of this includes reviewing IT platforms which would be able to support any future Occupational Health requirements. The IT Medical Platform would allow for various NR managed activities that would greatly benefit NR personnel in relation to effective Occupational Health provision — namely: — having an NR OH IT medical system/platform (SaaS solution), would enable NR to build rich detail, quality representations of the workforce. To enable identification of key areas on which to focus when delivering wellbeing programmes and unique health initiatives. It will enable the identification of areas/functions where certain medical condition(s) is more prevalent than others, thereby driving intervention and preventative measures, — each Network Rail Manned clinic could arrange their own bookings, this will allow more efficient management of appointments and ensure attendance — so reducing the number of cancellations and 'no shows' that are currently experienced, — by having consistent data over a period, NR will be able to track changes and monitor health and wellbeing workforce demographics, — an OH platform would enable NR to store all the medical notes on an individual and allow ongoing monitoring with the capability to book the necessary medical at an appropriate location for the individual, — allow effective management of medicals related to competency-based activities and have all necessary information to hand to review next stages for staff treatments and progress. The purpose of this RFI is to engage with the supply base and request information relating to the existing Occupation Health solutions available in the market, specifically this RFI will look to address the following areas: • identify the existing solutions available in the market, • identify the functionality and capabilities of the software services available in the market, • identify indicative costs of the software solutions available in the market, • identify any additional capabilities that Network Rail may have not considered, • ensure suppliers who are interested in any potential future tender activity relating to this requirement are aware of the procurement platform that will be used, and provide them with the steps to complete qualification to this platform (should they not have already done so).
