Northern Trains has obligations to maintain and where necessary modify its existing ticket validation equipment to prevent fraud and ticketless travel. The services procured include the provision of hosting, support and maintenance of that existing ticket validation equipment. Northern Trains has both contractual and safety obligations to maintain and where necessary modify its existing ticket validation equipment to prevent fraud and ticketless travel. The services procured under the contract that has been let to Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH are for the continued provision of hosting, support and maintenance and modification of existing Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH ticket validation equipment which requires access to and use of IPR owned by Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH.
