Kilkenny LEADER Partnership (KLP) are proposing to develop a rural community bike hire pilot scheme in five rural centres of the county. There will be 5 rural sites in the project. As part of developing the prototype community bike hire. Kilkenny LEADER Partnership are seeking the supply of 12 electric bicycles, suitable to the terrain and range of rural regions, and 24 “push” bicycles location with supporting safety and related equipment. It is intended the Rural Community Bike Hire pilot project will be delivered in five Kilkenny rural locations in a four-month (20 week) period between the 1st of June and 31st of October 2021. Over that period, successful tendering parties for will be asked to supply the provide the use of a suitable supply of the electric bikes and standard bikes with ancillary support and safety equipment, helmets, tire pumps, Hi-Viz vests, etc of a suitable specification: see attached specification schedule. 1. 12 x electric hire bikes: two in each location and two back-up replacements for the duration of the project. 2. 24 x standard bikes: four in each location and 4 back-up replacements, in each of the five selected locations for the duration of the four-month project: from installation for the duration of the project. 3. The bikes will be supplied for the period of the project and will remain the property of the supplier. 4. The tender must include appropriate insurance and indemnity cover of KLP and its partners stakeholders. 5. the supply of bikes and the transport and service between sites during the project to an agreed transfer protocol. Timescales: • The intention is to award the contract in December 2020. • The pilot project will operate for a 4-month period, in the period range of June and October 2021: actual time to dependent on pertaining Covid 19 health and safety regulations/ guidelines. • The timescale for delivery of installation and commissioning of this project is 2 months from award.
