Purchase of a new Automated Sand Bag Filling Machine

Galway City Council is seeking to purchase a new automated sand bag filling machine. The machine must be delivered, installed and operational by 30th November 2020. The machine must be capable of being filled with sand by use of the front bucket of a 180° excavator. • The hopper/silo shall be capable of holding 1.5mᶾ of wet or dry sand at a time. • The machine must not be limited to the use of dry sand. • The size of the empty sand bags required to be filled are typically 350mm x 800mm. • It shall consist of multiple filling points, which can be operated simultaneously. • The device must be capable of filling a minimum of 1500 bags per hour. • The machine shall be lightweight and portable and suited for drop-off at various locations as required. It must be capable of being relocated by use of front forks on 180° excavator or similar. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the use/service/routine maintenance of the proposed Sand Bagger. • Finish of the metal to be powder coated/epoxy coated rust proof finish. • Service schedule to be provided in relation to any combustible engine associated with the machine. • It must be demonstrated, where such a machine is in use in other jurisdictions and contact details for these owners/operators shall be provided. • The machine must come with a current/valid CE mark. • The machine must be new and free from wear or defects.
