Physical Chemical Laboratory Services. This includes: analytics laboratory testing, production of BPCRS (British Pharmacopeia chemical reference substances), procurement of candidate material, dispatch and marketing of the BPCRS. Analytical laboratory testing. The BP establish British Pharmacopoeia Chemical Reference Substances (BPCRS) for use with the monographs of the BP. The production of BPCRS follows the analytical work of characterising candidate material and consists of: • Vialling, sealing, labelling, production of associated documents (information leaflets and safety data sheets) in specified formats (screw-cap, crimp-seal closure and flame-seal closure systems). In order to characterise candidate material and produce BPCRS, the BP and Lab Services Group require the following capabilities: • source and/or procure chemicals as candidate material for BPCRS establishment (active pharmaceutical ingredients, impurities and excipients) from chemical suppliers to establish new materials and to replenish materials which have been depleted or are no longer fit for purpose. Once produced, BPCRS are shipped to customers in the UK, EU and Rest of the World. The BP and Lab Services group requires the capability to: • pick, pack and dispatch orders to agreed service level; • deal with Customs tariffs; • comply with IATA/DGR requirements. Promotion and marketing of the BPCRS (British Pharmacopeia Chemical Reference Substances).
