Tender description

The supply and development of an access control solution consisting of locks, keys and supporting software to replace the current access control system that serves the 2 400 Nationwide REBs (Relocatable Equipment Building). The successful bidder is to supply to Network Rail Telecoms a solution consisting of locks, keys and supporting software to form a new REB Access Control System. A smart lock solution will be required to replace the existing rim lock cylinders at NR’s 2400 nationwide REB (Relocatable Equipment Buildings) that support the FTN (Fixed Telecoms Network). The software will control the activation of the smart keys that NR will issue to support engineers and will be expected to be customised by the supplier to the extent that it will replace an existing application. The solution is required to eliminate the current security risk of unauthorised access using uncontrolled standard keys.
