Tender description

SEAI wishes to engage in a market sounding exercise, on the proposed design, engineering, manufacture, transportation and installation of medium voltage export marine cable for the Atlantic Marine Energy Test Site (AMETS) in Belmullet Co. Mayo. The scope of work, covered under this prior information notice (PIN), includes the design, manufacturing, testing, transportation, and installation of 10 KV marine Cable, Fiber-optic cable, and subsea connector to facilitate the connection between the deployed FOW technology and the onshore substation. The cable length will be circa 16 km from ‘Site A’ in AMETS to a junction box on Belderra strand. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) wishes to engage in a market sounding exercise, on the proposed design, engineering, manufacture, transportation and installation of medium voltage export marine cable for the Atlantic Marine Energy Test Site (AMETS) in Belmullet Co. Mayo. The scope of work, covered under this prior information notice (PIN), includes the design, manufacturing, testing, transportation, and installation of 10 KV marine cable, fiber-optic cable, and subsea connector to facilitate the connection between the deployed FOW technology and the onshore substation. The cable length will be circa 16 km from ‘Site A’ in AMETS to a junction box on Belderra strand. Consent and planning have been awarded for the deployment of the cable and construction of the junction box at landfall site. Please refer to ANNEX-02 for more details about the planned project. This PIN is not a call to competition. SEAI is not seeking tenders at this stage. This notice is to advise the market that SEAI intends to tender within the next twelve (12) months. This PIN is to help inform future contracting options, and market requirements. As part of this market research and analysis, SEAI may contact some organisations who submit responses to this PIN and may seek meetings with some service providers for market research. We would ask companies that are interested in engaging SEAI in this proposed tender to read the attached annexes and to respond to the questionnaire by 20 November 2020.
