Prior Information Notice for the development of a framework for the provision of Student Desks and Student Chairs

Tender description

The Department of Education and Skills (DES), intends to initiate a tender competition in the coming months to seek providers of student desks and chairs which are verifiably compliant with – subject to the provision of independent evidence of such at tender stage - the educations furniture standards of EN 1729-1 and EN 1729-2:2012+A1. The framework will be available to all educational establishments from primary schools through to further education. The framework agreement is primarily intended for use by all primary and post-primary schools and Education and Training Boards. School building programme capital projects, schools and further education and training centres, will be encouraged to use this agreement. It is anticipated that the Framework will be divided into separate Lots, and will cover a two-year period initially, with the options of two further one-year extensions, if required. It is intended that this process will establish a multi supplier framework ("Framework") which will consider flexible options for drawing down requirements. This is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) and not a call to competition. No response to this notice is required by the Department of Education and Skills.
