Tender description

The objectives of this project are: • Defining the unique features of food on the peninsula. • Source, catalogue and develop the stories of Dingle food (grow, cook, taste, present, etc). • Develop and agreed a vision for Dingle Peninsula Food Branding • Outline the strengths (including benefits), weaknesses, opportunities and threats / challenges of the food offering in the area. • Setting standards for the produce – e.g. real, nourishing, source, in season, the best, wholesome, provenance, etc. – and outline how they can be maintained, audited, etc. on an ongoing basis through all stakeholders. • Develop the full range of food offering – historic, current and emerging. • Developing a marketing and sales strategy including researching potential outlets (local and national) for sales and distribution opportunities; • Recommend potential food trails as a tourist, educational and entertaining experience. • Examining a pricing strategy which sees the farmers getting a fair price for their work • Research a branding strategy for the produce including logo options. • Source potential influential ambassadors, champions, etc., for the produce. • Ensure all relevant stakeholders and partners are fully consulted, involved and engaged. • Source a group of farmers, producers, members of the hospitality industry, etc who are interested in supporting the work in this project and working with them to develop and implement the strategy. Training Delivery Develop and deliver a Training Programme in “Developing a Sustainable Regional Food Branding Strategy”. The training Programme should address following: a) strategy content and development, including vision, goal setting, swot analysis and action planning b) local and national best practices associated with growing particular varieties of vegetables sustainably (without herbicides and pesticides), and breeding animals without anti-biotics, etc. c) relevant / appropriate varieties / brands to grow, breed, etc. d) lea
