Injection Moulding Machine consisting of: 28 or 32mm Diam. Hi Wear Resistant Plasticising Unit (58ccm or 76ccm Volume), ½” or 35mm Radius Open Nozzle, Fill of Hydraulic Oil, Set of Anti-Vibration Mounts, 50mm Mould height Reduction bushing, Secondary Plasticising unit 14mm Diameter (6.1ccm Volume), Multi-shapes mould tool, Air cooled chiller 4kw capacity, Mould temperature Control Unit and floor mounted Twin Tower Desiccant Drier unit. Under Regulation Reg 6(1)(b)(ii) of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016, a contracting authority may award a contract without competition based on the following justification: Competition is absent for technical reasons (only if it is not caused by artificial narrowing down of the parameters of the procurement and no reasonable alternative or substitute exists) Explanation: This is a specialist piece of Injection Moulding Machine equipment and there are no other suppliers available in the market to supply this type of machine equipment in the form factor required. The 35T Injection Moulding Machine is around 2.5m in length and less than a meter in width offering flexibility on the screw size, which enables research teams to mould a largest volume range. The principal purpose of the contract is to acquire goods in connection with research undertaken by the University.
