ESB is examining the potential to offer for sale, in excess of 2 million tons of Landfill Ash, from Moneypoint coal-fired power station. It is estimated that the landfill contains at least 200 kT of Furnace Bottom Ash and at least 1.8 million tons of conditioned fly ash for sale, for use in the cement or concrete industry. Interested parties should note that this selection process is not governed by the provisions of Directive 2004/18/EC or Directive 2004/17/EC (or the Irish regulations transposing those Directives) and ESB does not intend to follow the procedures or rules set out in those Directives/Regulations in this selection process.
