Tender description

The Ministry of Defence has a requirement for power generation, electrical power management systems, energy storage and electrical power distribution. This capability is anticipated to be delivered by the Land Concept and Assessment (LCA) Team through the Manoeuvre Power (MAN-P) Project. The key output of the MAN-P project is to provide the electrical power supply demanded by manoeuvre Force Elements deployed in the Land Environment (LE). The project aims will seek to enable the functions of command through the provision of electrical power, improve the mobility of forces operating in the LE and deliver improvements that minimise the logistic footprint. These aims will be realised by creating a capability that: (a) generates AC power (single and three-phase) and DC power; (b) distributes and manages AC and DC power; (c) enables command at the tactical unit level; (d) maximises available efficiencies to reduce the logistic footprint; (e) reduces costs through life. The authority is presenting an open invitation to industry to participate in a Request For Information (RFI) exercise in relation to the outlined MAN-P requirement. The RFI consists of a simple survey to assist the authority in the understanding of industry capabilities and the future development of acquisition options, ultimately supporting the development of the future procurement strategy. Specifically, the information from industry is to assist the authority in understanding: (a) the current market capability and capacity in relation to the requirements; (b) possible acquisition routes and procurement models; (c) understand the viability of the current project assumptions and timelines. The RFI is purely an information gathering exercise in which participants are invited to complete a survey in full or partially, in line with a participant’s in-service products and capabilities. The survey will explore: • product technical specifications relating to power generation, storage and distribution; • legislative compliance.
