Tender description
Telford & Wrekin is designing a regional Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) to work with families and children to deliver direct support and intervention. It is envisaged that many providers will be self-employed/sole traders (i.e. individual psychologists/therapists/mediators etc) who will deliver sessions and work directly with children and families. Hence, the Council requires all providers to have an Enhanced DBS checks prior to being admitted to the DPS. It is Council's understanding that individuals can not currently obtain Enhanced DBS check by themselves, therefore the Council is looking at alternative solutions to ensure providers obtain required criminal record check. Therefore, we are looking for an umbrella body/organisation who can do the following: - Carry out Enhanced DBS checks for individuals - Carry out ID checks for individuals (i.e. via Virtual means or face to face checks where appropriate) - Invoice individuals directly for Enhanced DBS/ID check Interesting parties must be aware that there will be no direct contract between the Council and the Provider, instead the Council envisages establishing a pathway where an Individual sole trader who applies to the DPS is referred on to an umbrella body to have an Enhanced DBS (and ID) check completed. The arrangement will be directly with an individual and the umbrella body, also the individual will be responsible for paying for the Enhanced DBS check, ID check and/or any fees associated with the checks that need to be carried out. It should also be noted, that the Council envisages working with individual sole traders across the West Midlands area. Interested providers, who can deliver the aforementioned requirements, should contact Martyna Migas via email martyna.migas@telford.gov.uk to discuss further.
