Tender description
This contract will include the manufacture and supply of a a hot forming die. The Requirement 1) This contract will include the manufacture of a a hot forming die. It will also include the manufacture of four guide blocks and two locators pins; 2) The approximate size of each of the two die halves (i.e. upper and lower) will be 70” x 22” x 10”; 3) The approximate size of each of the four the guide blocks will be 2.5” x 4.5” x 10.5”; 4) The approximate size of each of the two locator pins will be 1” DIA x 3”; 5) The dies and guide blocks and locator pins will be used in a hot forming process; 6) The dies and guide blocks and locator pins will be used to form titanium components; 7) The alloy used to manufacture the dies will have to present high strength, high creep resistance, high oxidation and wear resistance at high temperature, up to approximately 1650 oF (900 oC). 8) In order to prove the suitability of the proposed material for the application, evidence of materials properties will be required (e.g. strength, creep resistance, coefficient of thermal expansion, etc.); 9) The contract will include the casting of the metallic dies, guide blocks, and also the machining of those castings and locator pins to their final geometry; 10) Proven experience casting the high temperature alloy selected to manufacture the dies, guide blocks and locator pins will be required; 11) Proven experience manufacturing similar high temperature dies will be required; 12) Evidence of suitable non-destructive testing will be required to prove the desired quality of the final components; 13) The dimensional tolerances for the die halves, guide blocks and locator pins are ranging from ± 0.1” to ± 0.01”.
