Tender description

Donegal County Council (DCC) proposes to develop a Western Link Road, as identified within the Seven Strategic Towns Local Area Plan 2018-2024 (as varied), around the western perimeter of Ballybofey’s town centre. This is a strategic piece of infrastructure which aims to provide connectivity from the R252 Glenfinn Road, N15 Donegal Road, L3054-1 Trusk Road and L-3044-3 Dreenan Road, improving traffic congestion, encouraging modal shift while also supporting business/community development within the Twin Towns and growth of the Ballybofey and Stranorlar town centres. It will link the west of Ballybofey with the southern area of Ballybofey/Stranorlar and Killygordon. The project also includes for the design and implementation of a one-way system/pedestrian link on the narrow R252 Glenfinn Street prioritising safety for pedestrians and vulnerable road users.
