Variation to contract for public building — cleaning services. The current contract expires on 31 March 2021. The current contract expires on 31 March 2021. Since the outbreak of the pandemic (Covid-19) employers have had to consider a number of Government guidelines which they need to follow in order to ensure the safety of its employees. The current Government guidance states: (a) employees should work from home if they can, and (B) if employees cannot work from home, employees can return to work but your employer must make arrangements for employees to work safely. With the landscape for these services changing due to Covid-19 and taking the safety of its employees and employees of the cleaning contractor into account. The contracting authority has, after careful consideration, decided to vary its contract with the current contractor. With this step the contracting authority is ensuring that the services will continue to be provided it throughout the Covid-19 pandemic including a period where the Covid-19 pandemic issues persist, enabling the contracting authority to adapt to the changes required to ensure that the contracting authority protects its employees and any third party employees. It is the contracting authority’s intention to start a new procurement process as soon as the full impact of Covid-19 is known to the contracting authority, enabling it to procure services as required at that time. This variation shall vary the contract period by allowing for a further extension for a period of six months commencing on 1 April 2021 expiring on 30 September 2021.
