Asbestos removal services

Tender description

The service will require the contractor to remove all Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) which include all Licensable Asbestos Works (LW) and on occasion some notifiable non licensed works (NNLW) and Non Licensed Asbestos Works (NLAW) at the contracting authority's request. From the starting date the contractor is to provide a comprehensive ACM removal service which must be available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year (366 in leap year) to the contracting authority's properties in North Belfast, West Belfast, Lisburn, Dairy Farm, Coleraine and Craigavon (Lurgan, Brownlow and Portadown). The contractor must be proficient in the removal of all types of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) which may include but not restricted to the removal of: • Asbestos insulation and insulation board, • Asbestos coating, • Asbestos cement, • Any article of bitumen, plastic, resin or rubber which contains asbestos. The contractor will work closely with the employer and the employer’s asbestos analyst for the duration of the contract and ensure the safe removal of all ACM’s by building suitable enclosures and putting in place adequate control measures which must include decontamination and cleaning of the site including the provision of adequate control and safety measures for all staff. Following the removal of all (LW) ACM’s the contractor must arrange through the employer for the services of the employer’s analyst. The Constructionline Category expected to be used is: Asbestos removal/treatment. The expected category value will be GBP 160 000. Note: Constructionline has recently been updated. It is the economic operator's responsibility to ensure the category notation they intend to rely upon is updated and published on Contructionline. Economic operators will be required to provide 2 example contracts demonstrating previous experience of licensed asbestos removal also detailing the type of ACMs removed and the process by which the ACMs were removed. Examples must be completed within the 7 years prior to the tender submission deadline.
