AFRC Powderbed Facility

Tender description

This project was initially briefed to include for the construction of a timber framed unit to house the new AFRC Powderbed equipment. However, this has developed significantly and is now split into 3 main sections which are as follows: - The Powderbed Unit; proposed timber framed unit with services to house Powderbed equipment - The Mechanical Pit; proposed concrete pit constructed within the existing slab with piles foundations to accommodate a new press - The Office/Warehouse upgrades; proposed refurbishment and upgrade existing offices and service upgrades throughout the footprint of the main workshop area. Although this project will incorporate a specialist design which will require specialist suppliers and sub-contractors, most of the specialist equipment will be ordered by the University directly and installed post contract during the fitout. Therefore, as part of this project the focus will be providing the infrastructure to facilitate the installation and accommodation of the equipment.
