Yeovil Town Centre Public Art Commission

Tender description

South Somerset District Council are developing public realm enhancement proposals within Yeovil town centre as part of the Yeovil Refresh scheme, with funding from South Somerset District Council and the Future High Streets Fund. We would like to appoint an artist to join the design team to develop a public art strategy and site-specific pieces of art that are integrated into the public realm design. Interested artists are required to submit the following: 1. A current CV. 2. Examples of up to three recent public art works with a short summary of the key features of the commission. 3. A brief statement (not more than 500 words/2 sides A4) explaining initial thoughts, approach and how you would respond to this commission. Specific proposals for the final work are not expected at this stage. Instead the artist should set out their relevant past experience of working with design teams in delivery of art work within a public realm setting, and how they will approach this project. 4. A breakdown of your fee proposal (including key tasks, time allocation and proposed stage payments). The deadline for return of Expression of Interests will be 5pm on the 30th October 2020. Responses should be returned via the portal. Up to 5 Shortlisted artists will be asked to present their ideas at an interview to a selection committee comprising the client design team and steering group. Keywords: Public Art
