Tender description

Suffolk County Council, adult and community services, mental health and learning disabilities team are looking for interest from providers in developing a four person supported housing service. The provider would need to be able to identify a suitable property for four young males aged 20-25 and accommodate a sleep in/staff room. The provider would also need to be able to provide the required levels of support to all four men who would require 1:1 support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Full details of hours of support required will be released in due course and/or as part of a tender process. Where/If interest is shown in developing a service to accommodate the above, a tender process will follow during 2021. Detailed timescales are not known at this time but it is envisaged that move in/transition into the service would begin towards the end of 2021. Please note that this is not a call for competition, at this point we are only interested in having initial open discussions with potential providers. Brief overview: all four males have severe learning disabilities and there is a combination of autism (moderate to severe), some challenging behaviours and mobility and sensory disabilities amongst them. The accommodation needs to include a downstairs wet room and bedroom for one of the males, upstairs accommodation for three males would be appropriate. Additional bathrooms would need to be large. There will need to be enough space inside and outside for socialisation and ‘own’ personal space. There is a preference for the accommodation to be situated in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk.
