Tender description

The Northern lighthouse Board have a requirement to replace our existing vessel NLV Pole Star with a new build. Based on a detailed statement of requirements the replacement vessel shall be designed and constructed as a aft working deck DP2 Buoy-Laying/servicing vessel capable of carrying out: buoy work; hydrographic surveying and wreck finding in UK and Irish waters. To act as mother vessel for a capable work boat utilised for light inspections and for the transfer of personnel and packaged stores to Lights via rock, beach and slip type landings. The vessel shall as an auxiliary role be capable of hosting a work class ROV launching and recovery unit with associated equipment containers and undertake emergency towing operations. It is envisaged that helicopter load lifting may be incorporated from the main deck but no landing deck is intended. The vessel shall be designed for a service life of 25 years and to meet the highest environmental standards.
