Lochgilphead Front Green Regeneration Works Re-tender

Tender description

The Lochgilphead Front Green project is focusing on improvements to Lochgilphead Front Green increasing levels, improving drainage, a new public square and replacement play equipment. The outline business case for this project relates to the upgrading of current facilities within the Front Green in an attempt to make Lochgilphead and the wider Mid Argyll area a more attractive place for people to live and work. The regeneration proposals will provide more aesthetically pleasing landscapes and safer routes for walkers/cyclists which should subsequently produce a higher footfall in these areas resulting in people spending longer in the areas and benefitting the local economy. Following an unsuccessful procurement process during the earlier part of 2020, the designs are now been reviewed with a view to reducing costs and simplifying the proposals. Works to Colchester Square and the A83, which formed part of this previous procurement, have been removed from the scope of works. The contract will still include hard and soft landscaping works, civils, mechanical and electrical works.
