Tender description
The Single Homelessness Prevention Service (SHPS) is a payment by results caseworker led programme that relieves and prevents homelessness with a focus on sustaining housing. Case workers assess the service users’ situation and the circumstances that have led to it, develop personal housing plans (PHP) for service users, provide intense support and help service users access a range of public and VCSE support. It is currently being delivered in Brent and works with single adults and other households without children, with moderate support needs and who currently fall outside the threshold for priority support. The service was co-designed by commissioners and the VCSE sector and has three core objectives: 1) To prevent homelessness for single people and other households without dependent children who meet the agreed referral criteria and are at risk of homelessness within 56 days. 2) To relieve homelessness for single people and other households without dependent children who meet the agreed referral criteria and are already homeless. 3) To assist those single people and other households without dependent children whose homelessness is prevented or relieved to sustain suitable accommodation and to prevent repeat homelessness.
