Design and Redevelopment of Cahir Public Playground

Tender description

Cahir Development Association are seeking tenders for the Design, Supply, Installation and Certification of a Proposed Playground at Duneske, Farranlahassery, Cahir, Co.Tipperary. The community want an inclusive playground with high play value whilst taking into consideration the rich cultural and historic heritage of Cahir. The overall design should be original, creative, and imaginative and shall complement and enhance the site location. The Proposed Contract is the Public Works Contract for Civil Engineering Works Designed by the Contractor Document Reference PW-CF6. This contract will be awarded based on the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) based on the proposals submitted. The client reserves the right to review all proposals and hence, the lowest compliant tender will not be chosen automatically. In seeking tenders for this development, the client is in no way creating a financial obligation to the tendering contractors. Cahir is one of the only major towns in Tipperary that does not have a modern, safe, and inclusive playground, as identified in Tipperary County Council Playground Policy. We have a unique opportunity to foster a sense of place and shared history for the children of Cahir and surrounding areas in the development of Cahir playground. The ancient and proper name of Cahir- Cathair Dun Iascaigh or the circular stone fortress of the fish abounding Dun or Fort. The proposed design of the playground has been carefully planned to reflect the presence of Cahir Castle, the river Suir flowing through our town and the Swiss Cottage. July 6th 1815, saw the first Bianconi car travel from Clonmel to Cahir and back. The design of the proposed playground will be based on local heritage and folklore. The new playground design will reflect the rich cultural heritage of the town, linking local history to the overall project.
