Calderdale CCG: GP Support - Covid Positive Beds (Market Interest Test)

Tender description

This is a market interest test. It is not feasible to discharge Covid positive patients back to their normal place of residence including care homes for risk of the infection spreading. The CCG have therefore decided to commission a separate, additional bed capacity to support this cohort enabling: • rapid discharge of Covid positive patients who are medically fit for discharge from hospital and reducing the number of delayed transfers of care (supporting the local winter plans) • bed capacity within the Calderdale system for Covid positive patients to mitigate o any second wave and/or; o a peak as we enter the winter period This service is for the provision of in-hours primary medical services for Covid positive enhanced care beds, similar to intermediate care beds commissioned in Calderdale, with the exception of the intervention lasting until the resident is Covid negative (approx. 7-14 days) and able to safely transition to their existing or new care home.
