The authority is seeking to put in place an arrangement to procure winter equipment in advance of the next winter season to ensure the authority has the appropriate equipment in time in order to undertake critical repairs and maintenance of the County’s roads and highways, therefore maintaining services and minimising risk and disruption to North Yorkshire residents. Minimum requirement: The snow plough side blade to affix to front of tractor by means of the standard agricultural tractor 3 (100hp) point linkage system. (Equipment without 3 point linkage will not be considered). The snow plough side blade is to be composed of a heavy duty high yield steel Minimum of 3 mm steel. The snow plough side blade is to have replaceable wearing edge. The snow plough side blade is to have twin wheels with twin bearings, fully castoring. The snow plough side blade clearing width is to be no less than 2.2 metres and no greater than 2.9 metres. The snow plough side blade is to have curved deflector top. The snow plough side blade is required to have the option of high speed pneumatic castors with integral screw jack to adjust height. Spare parts to be available within 7 days. The Quad bike/all- terrain vehicle (ATV)shall have full road lighting kit. The Quad bike/all- terrain vehicle (ATV)shall be fully road legal. The Quad bike/all- terrain vehicle (ATV) shall be capable of attaching compatible snow blade and salt spreader accessories. A professionally designed and built snow plough designed for snow ploughing footways around town and city centres to attach to quad bike/ATV as detailed above. Minimum 1.2m wide blade. Abrasion resistant rubber wear strip. Spring return break back design. Manual angle – left, right, straight. Manual raise and lower. Heavy duty sub-chassis to fit ATV. All metalwork blast cleaned prior to phosphate prime and high quality powder coat.
